Instructor

Instructor Wendy Hall

Wendy Hall has worked in health and aged care for over 25 years and is the Director and founder of Dementia Doulas International. As a Registered Nurse, Paramedic and Dementia Consultant, Wendy has used her diverse skill set within the acute care, pre-hospital, community & residential sectors. Her role in the development of training and mentoring for emerging Dementia Doula’s has been evolving over many years and brings together her areas of passion to better serve those she represents. Her interactive approach challenges mindsets and encourages those supporting someone or working within the area of dementia to explore a different way of thinking. Her goal is shifting preconceived ideas about existing barriers to dementia care and influence the palliative care space so that no one goes it alone.
  • Becoming a Dementia Doula means you'll not only give families back a sense of control but also a better way to stay connected.

  • You'll be better placed to guide and support them emotionally during the advancing stages and give those living with dementia a voice that needs to be heard.

  • By being surrounded by a supportive community, you'll be better placed to create your own rewarding career path in compassionate care.

"l have tears in my eyes at the prospect of this newly emerging role & knowing the difference it will make. If only Alan had that understanding & right to be heard in his final stages..."

There is currently a shift and a feeling of uncertainty within the aged care sector. It's time for the Dementia Doula to raise the bar and set a new industry standard so that those impacted by advancing dementia never again have to go it alone.
